YR Patch

Only one official patch has been released for Yuri's Revenge and in many peoples opinion, far more should have been done and severals things should have been left alone. The patch brings the game version to 1.001 and provided numerous changes to the game.

Engine Changes From v1.000

There were several changes to the games engine, but the only major one that applies to modders was how mix file names were treated. The game was altered to read from expandmd##.mix where previously it had read from expand##.mix. This made it possible to have assets only available to one version of the game (YR or RA2). The remaining changes are for the most part bug fixes and are documented in the patch read me file.

Art Asset Changes

  • Popup box for exiting game and asking from some other inputs was changed.
  • Yuri's multiplayer victory screen was changed.
  • Fixed derrick animations were added for NewUrban.

Mission Changes

  • Second allied mission was changed so that the sounds that play are inline with the changes made to the ini files regarding the civilian hero units.

Changes made to YR ini files from version 1.000 (by Marshall)

This is really intended for people who have made a mod for Yuri's Revenge 1.000 and want to apply the ini changes from the 1.001 patch without recoding their ini files.
