A SYNC#.txt1 file is created if a Reconnection Error occurs during a multiplayer game. More often than not, the average user can not read these files, and they provide no real help unless you understand the game engine's source code (to which you generally have no access).

Today, it is mostly used by XWIS's Strike-team to determine if someone forced a reconnection error in a multiplayer game.

1 In the wild, there is an unsigned integer between SYNC and .txt, increasing with each generated file; therefor, the actual filenames are SYNC0.txt, SYNC1.txt, SYNC2.txt and so on.
