Welcome to the CnC Modding Encyclopedia. This project is currently under development. This page will soon be moved and replaced by a news system. Forums now here.
Since I have recently discovered that the Soylent page is being linked to by Wikipedia, I have decided to once and for all bring this page out of the beta-stages to a fully usable site. You can proceed as usual, but you will notice increased activity on the recent changes page, and the layout might suddenly changed.
Don't panic.

Style examples
Two nice style examples here:
- Rewrite of Hardcoded page by Blade - this is pretty much the best you can do. Clean, structured, nothing missing...just great.
- Yet, when quoting already existing tutorials, leave them in their original style. You may rewrite the page like Blade did, but as long as you're just quoting, leave the style and give credit in the header. If you are quoting a tutorial/article you wrote yourself, there is no need to leave credit information as the editors and authors of pages are saved in the encyclopedias database.
Crash Course
To add something new, go to http://www.renegadeprojects.com/index.php/XXXX, while XXXX is the name of the entry you want to add/see. Use an underscore ("_") for spaces. Then you can click on "edit" and write away.
- Example: If you wanted to see/edit information on the topic "Hardcoded", you'd go to http://www.renegadeprojects.com/index.php/Hardcoded
- Example: If you wanted to see/edit information on the topic "CnC Modding Encyclopedia", you'd go to http://www.renegadeprojects.com/index.php/CnC_Modding_Encyclopedia
You can also edit existing entries if you see wrong/outdated information, or something simply hasn't been stated yet.
- Please do always use the "Show preview" function! Everytime you hit "Save page", a version of the page is saved in the database. So preview the site until your satisfied, and then hit save.
- Please always fill the "Summary" field! Despite it's name, that field is not used for the search-function, but gives a summary of what was changed in this version compared to an earlier one. Good examples are "Added XY's tutorial" or "fixed some layout/spelling problems".
Here is a list of coding aids (similar to a forum's BBCode), especially important are:
- The bracket-thingy: Surrounding an entry like this
example
, makes it a link to another page, likeModding Encyclopedia or Hardcoded
, for example, becomes CnC Modding Encyclopedia or Hardcoded.
Please do always link important words, even if there is no article for them yet. The link is still valid and leads directly to the editing-page until a page is saved.
- The Headers:
This text
results in
This text
Reading the guide is still a good idea anyway. ;)
Registering
Clicking on "Log In" in the upper right-hand corner leads you to the Login/Registering page. If you register, all changes you do to the Encyclopedia are marked with your username, rather than your IP, and you can set some personal preferences. It is not necessary, however.
For further questions, ModEnc can be reached via ModEnc@RenegadeProjects.com. Or I, personally, via the usual ways.
