User:Ranger X
Command & Conquer gamer and creator of Project-X, a personal Generals modification, and Ultimate-X and Project-X2 (both Zero Hour mods). I also do scientific evaluations of characters, combat units, and weaponry in video games.
Project-X finished tasks: The X Force faction now features a class-based system inspired by Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight, with three dozers representing the three classes in the faction: The Assault X class is focused on offense and inspired by the Tank General of Zero Hour. The Fortress X class is focused on defense and inspired by the Super Weapon General. The Spec-Ops (Special Operations) X class is focused on specialized units and aircraft and inspired by the Stealth and Air Force Generals.
Ultimate-X plan: to enhance the generic USA, Chinese, and GLA factions by giving them the new units belonging to their rogue generals; also, to enable Boss General Leang and enable her to pick one of the following ten building plans: Boss (her normal set), Air Force, Super Weapon, Laser, Tank, Nuclear, Infantry, Toxin, Demolition, and Stealth. Each battle plan will modify her tech tree (if Boss isn't selected), causing her to gain some of the rogue general's units and buildings and to lose some of her own (if necessary). Also, reintroduce the X-Force with new technologies and enhancements. Ultimate-X is based on the Boss Generals mod (final release R3).
Project-X2 plan: a personal-use only mod that uses new models and button images to enhance the nine rogue generals; also, to introduce the three bosses that were in Pro:Gen and give them multiple build options: Ironside - USA Boss or Armor plans; Leang - Chinese Boss, Combined Forces, or Napalm; "Deathstrike" - GLA Boss or Salvage. As with any X-series mod, the X-Force will be introduced (as faction number 16). The goal of developing the X-series mods is to provide replayability for gamers. Project-X2 is based on several mod ideas (and therefore is not to be made public).
Project-X2 progress: I am currently deciding what to put in each faction. Most of the models and images are from other modifications and are to reflect the generals' strategies. The bosses' multiple build sets will be an exclusive either-or case: pick one plan and ignore the others for the rest of the game. This is to keep the game fair so no faction can easily overpower the others.
