Renegade Box Art Renegade was a bizarre departure from the RTS genre associated with the C&C series. It was a first person shooter (FPS) game set between Tiberian Dawn and Tiberian Sun. It was greeted with even less fan appraisal than its predecessor Red Alert 2. Renegade was accused of many inconsistencies with the original storyline, distorting it entirely according to some fans.

The game focused on a GDI commando, known as Havoc, who you played as. With Havoc you take on the Brotherhood of Nod basically with a one-man army. You get the ability to control many of Tiberian Dawn's vehicles, such as the Mammoth and Stealth Tanks, as well as aircraft such as the Orca Fighter and the Apache Helicopter. You can also control GDI and Nod's superweapons, the Ion Cannon and Nuclear Missile respectively, targeted via small beacons that you would carry with you, spend five seconds arming (in which you are vulnerable to fire) then getting ten seconds to clear the area or you would get struck by the superweapon.

Renegade proved to be an unpopular game in terms of singleplayer gameplay, but in multiplayer it is still one of the most played FPS games.
