The title of "YR 1.002" was originally claimed for a mod by Fenring, but is now widely accepted as the title of the YR 1.002 UMP ("1.002 Unofficial Mini Patch" ) developed by martyr.

Besides obviously not being official, YR 1.002 isn't a real patch either. It is a mini-mod that doesn't affect the gameplay as a "normal" mod would. It fixes the obvious bugs that Westwood never fixed, adds support for features like the Terrain Expansion or the Assault Mode, and includes the vastly improved DeeVious AI.
Advantage: Fixes a lot of bugs while leaving the original game intact
Disadvantage: As it is a mod, you cannot have "real" mods running while using UMP
Although several modders who read the thread and/or heard of the UMP already adjusted their rules to include most, if not all, of the fixes.

If you don't use "real" mods, the usage of the UMP is highly recommended. If you do use mods, encourage your favourite modder to incorporate the UMP fixes. If you are a modder, incorporate the UMP fixes.
