Flag: DeployToLand
File(s): rules(md).ini
Values: Boolean values: yes or no, true or false, 1 or 0
Default: no
Applicable to: VehicleTypes

Determines whether this VehicleType (usually a helicopter, Hover or Fly locomotor) requires an explicit order to land, which can be given by deploying it. See Soviet Siege Chopper in Yuri's Revenge

Normally, these unit will land as soon as it stops movement.

Notes

In Yuri's Revenge, DeployToLand=yes & IsSimpleDeployer=yes can achieve the same effect with BalloonHover=yes (jumpjet units do not land), include interrupt CloakStop, but such units cannot keep themselves directly above a building when moving.

  • If you force it to move to a building, the target of its movement will be immediately changed to the ground near that building when it is executed.
  • These three flags can be used together, like there.
    • And with BalloonHover=yes Siege Chopper, if a building is built below, it can also be automatically deployed to nearby open spaces after receiving deployment instructions.

Hovering units will play their HVA animation with a rate of 1 (advancing to the next frame every frame).

Bugs/Side-Effects/Unexpected Limitations

When this flag is no and IsSimpleDeployer=yes, the vehicle will attempt to land even if it has BalloonHover=yes, and cannot maintain hover in the air.

  • This bug has been fixed in Phobos Build#48.
