Flag: | NewINIFormat |
File(s): | Maps |
Values: | unsigned integers, (0 to 4) |
Applicable to: | Basic |
Determines the format of the map file itself and thus which C&C game it is intended for. Can hold values from 1 - 4 but should not be set to '0'. For Red Alert 2, this should always be set to 4. This could be changed in Red Alert but appears to cause sporadic Internal Errors if changed in Red Alert 2. For information only, here are the values this can hold in case you get any other effects (or even get these to work);-
1=Tiberium Dawn & Sole Survivor
Indicates that [Triggers], [Events], [Actions], [Tags], [Preview], [PreviewPack], [OverlayPack], [OverlayData]and [IsoMapPackN] info is ignored.
2=Red Alert (also with Counterstrike installed)
As above except that [OverlayPack] is used but [OverlayData] is not.
3=Red Alert (with Aftermath installed)
All sections read and used - this enabled much larger maps.
4=Tiberian Sun (including Firestorm) & Red Alert 2 (including Yuri's Revenge)
All sections read. Enabled addition of previews, 3D ground and deformable terrain (Tiberian Sun & Firestorm only).
NOTE: this does not mean that maps designed for one game will work on another simply by changing this setting. Making any amendment to this invariably leads to Internal Errors.
