Non-Existent Flags
Here is a list of Flags that are annotated in the original Westwood files but do not actually exist in the program.
According to the current plan, this page will not include existing but invalid flags, but will only consider flags that are completely non-existent.
Note: Flags like <Sequence>Sounds are functionally operational, even none of them utilize complete string records that have one-to-one correspondence in gamemd.exe. Therefore, these pages will be organized into one dedicated page and should not be added here.
| Flags | Notes |
|---|---|
| PParatrooper | The incorrect Flag name. Although it existed in earlier games, was misspelled by Westwood during the development of Red Alert 2
See Paratrooper |
| PreventAutoDeploy BalloonHoverHeight BalloonHoverDampen BalloonHoverBob BalloonHoverBoost BalloonHoverAcceleration BalloonHoverBrake |
never appears in game(md).exe
It originated from the design during the development of Red Alert 2, but ultimately was not implemented |
| TiberiumRadius | Perhaps it was Westwood's spelling mistake
Should use TiberiumSpreadRadius |
| TiberiumSpawnRadius | It seems to stem from spelling errors in some ancient tutorials in the community
Should use TiberiumSpreadRadius |
| AN | Legacy from the Red Alert 2 development phase,
|
| AS | |
| ASW | |
| AntiOrganic | |
| AntiUnderwater | |
| NumberOfWaitingPoints | Legacy from the Red Alert 2 development phase,
|
| WaitingOffsetX | |
| SpyEffect.Nothing | This once appeared in a post about Ares 1.1 test content, but it was not actually included in version 2.0, so it does not exist in any officially released version of Ares. And its initial design is actually equivalent to setting SpyEffect.Custom=yes without enabling any other additional effects, while its own instructions also require doing so to use it. Therefore, even if this flag really exists, it is actually meaningless. |
| FileNew | DeeZire claims that this flag was "used by Westwood for their editor (Yuri's Revenge only)", however, it was not found it in any of gamemd.exe, ra2.mix, ra2md.mix, maps01.mix, maps02.mix, mapsmd03.mix, multi.mix, or multimd.mix. |
| BounceVelocity CollisionWaitDuration |
Presumably, remnants from a point in development of or features that were never implemented in Firestorm. Pertains to the levitate locomotor, See [LEVITATION]. The locomotor clearly has these features, but they cannot be configured through INI. |
| IsBase | This is the name of the game engine's internal class field corresponding to the BaseNormal flag in rules(md).ini. In other words, no such INI flag as IsBase exists; you need to use BaseNormal instead. |
