| Flag: | IonLevel |
| File(s): | Maps |
| Values: | Floating point values: Any decimal number (clearer range should be added in Template:Values). |
| Default: | 0.0 |
| Applicable to: | Lighting |
Specifies the amount that the map's ambient lighting varies by elevation during ion storm (Tiberian Sun) or lightning storm (Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge). Common values range between 0 to 0.05, with 0 meaning that the map's lighting is flat, i.e. elevation makes no difference. The higher the value, the more drastic the difference is between two height levels.
Bugs/Side-Effects/Unexpected Limitations
When using values with small absolute values, it behaves normally like Level, with positive values increasing brightness at higher positions and negative values decreasing brightness. However, when the values are large, anomalies occur. For example, setting it to 10 causes higher places to become completely black, and setting it to -10 causes lower places to become pitch black.
